With nearly 24 years in law enforcement, Dan began his career in 2000 as a Community Service Aide before becoming a police officer in 2002. He spent nine years on night shift patrol, training over 25 new officers as a Field Training Officer.
Recognized for his dedication, he received the Ride-Along Officer of the Year award (2005), Employee of the Month (2009), and Officer of the Quarter (2023).
In 2011, he joined the Training Unit, earning multiple state certifications, including Firearms, Driving, and Taser Instruction, as well as armorer certifications for department-issued firearms.
Promoted to Sergeant in 2017, he returned to patrol before transitioning to lead the Community Services Unit’s School Resource Officers (SROs) in 2018. He currently oversees 14 SROs across nine schools in Coconut Creek.
Outside of work, he enjoys family life with his two children, Trenton and Katie. Also, shares the home with his dog, Jamison and his two cats, Alpha and Tango.
